Burgers & Bluegrass

(Marble NC)
I arrived at my artist friend’s property up in the mountains for Saturday night, and settled into a nice level spot with a view of the three acres and pond. It was especially fine since they were having a burgers and bluegrass night. And boy was it good! Both the home cooked fix’ins and the joyous music.
Just about everyone that showed up sang and played an instrument. There were guitars, including a steel guitar, banjo, mandolin, harmonica, piano and bass. These were very good musicians that had a good time jamming together.
This also was the one month anniversary of my being retired and on the road full-time. What a wonderful and enjoyable way to mark the occasion. And, they even asked me to take some of that delicious raspberry and blackberry cobbler when I left. Ahhhh!
Camp: A friend’s place
Scene: Woods, mountain, pond

Hi, I’ve been reading your blog the past couple of months. I love that you named your rig TARDIS. I’m a big fan of the classic Doctor Who. I used to go to the occasional Bluegrass weekend. I enjoy the music, just as I enjoy a little of each genre. I’m hoping to go full timing eventually so I like reading blogs of people who are doing it, especially those who are doing it solo.

Welcome Donna. Glad to have a Dr. Who fan along for the ride. I too like reading the blogs of solo RVers. It really has helped me to strike out on my own. Did you know there are more females soloing than male? You can do it!

I’ve been a fan of RVSue for almost a year now and read her blog religiously. She’s my hero! I follow a couple of other solo female RVers also but I identify with Sue the most. Hopefully I can get on the road before too many years go by.
