Way Down Upon the Suwannee

(White Springs FL)
My last camp in Florida was at the Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park. I arrived in the early evening and setup was a breeze in a very level generous site. Again my view on two sides was of the woods. My spot was a short walk to a trail that took me to the focal points.

In the morning I hiked down to the craft village. It was too early for the shops to be open; same for the museum and carillon tower. So, I went down to the river. There was a sign that said “No Swimming” and “Gators in River”. However, there were stairs down into the water and an outdoor shower by the river. Huh?

On the way back, I passed some huts that were being built for a future Seminole Indian Settlement camp. By this point I was sweating from the heat and humidity, so I returned to the comfort of Tardis. Only after being back did I notice that everything opens at 10am. But alas, it began raining again, as it did most of the stay.

My goal here was to plan the next phase of my family and friends trip. Some internet work was completed, laundry was done, and I got caught up on the blogs I like to follow. A packed crushed gravel pad of good size was level, water-electric, 4G internet with 3 bars, for 3 days was just $33.00 with tax and senior discount.

Nice private site – and reasonable price for sure.

Was that 33 bucks a day or yipee, 33 bucks for 3 days?

Dragonfly: That was the price for three days. In Florida State Parks, senior FL residents get half-off the normal price. Pretty good deal hey?!

    Hello Pleinguy,
We have enjoyed reading your responses to Becky over on Interstellar Orchard. And we’re looking very much forward to following your own artistic adventures. We have recently started our own blog chronicling the enormous challenges we face before starting our own full timing journey. We would like to follow Becky’s example and hope that we can help others, much in the way that Becky and IO helped us. We don’t want to be pushy by putting our blog addy here without your permission. but if you should like to see it I think it’s linked to our profile pic.
Safe and Creative Journey to you! We look forward to your next post!
