Artesia Walk

(Artesia NM)
Water, cattle and oil have combined to make Artesia successful. The downtown has seen lots of improvements and now features a walking tour with many points of interest.

Many large sculptures depicting the towns roots adorn street corners. Cowboys, cattle, oil rig, veterans memorial, and others.

Murals, water fountains, and tiled paths are featured in the Heritage Walkway tucked between buildings downtown. It was very well done.

I spent about an hour strolling around locating the sites, and there were others that I skipped. Plans were to have lunch in a local café, but I didn’t see one that called to me. So, I headed down the road to the next camp.
