(Silverton OR)
I dry camped overnight in Silver Falls State Park south of Silverton. The plan was to hike a trail that went past ten waterfalls within the park. However, it rained all night, and into the following morning.
Upper North Falls – Silver Falls State Park
It turned into just one waterfall on a short hike to 65ft Upper North Falls. A few good photos, then back to Tardis and out of the rain. At least, I was able to dump the waste tanks and refill the fresh water.

A few more miles got me to Silverton, where I had lunch and the weather cleared. So, I walked around town to see some of the cafés, galleries, shops and 18 murals. It was a nice mountain town, with a less touristy feel than Sisters.
Gallon House Bridge
On my way out, I went by Oregon’s oldest covered bridge on Gallon House Rd; and still in use. Then, it was off to Salem to visit a cousin. I had spent the previous day locating the land where some ancestors had homesteaded back in the 1840s, after they crossed on the Oregon Trail.

Thanks for the photo of Upper North Falls, since that was the only one we missed after we turned back on the trail looking for Jim’s sunglasses. Too bad the weather didn’t cooperate for you.

I would have stayed longer, but my site was reserved by another and no others were open. Waterfalls are one of my favorite scenes.
Hope you get back to Silver Falls SP. It’s a great walk past all those falls.
