Salmon Falls Creek

(Rogerson ID)
Just before crossing the border into Idaho, near Jackpot NV, was a nice rest area next to Salmon Falls Creek. It had a paved lot with shelter, tables, trash, pit toilets and tall cliffs rising above the creek. It was a nifty free overnight stop next to the highway.

Salmon Falls Creek Reservoir was my first stop in Idaho for this trip. I stopped in the small town and had a burger and fries before heading to the camp. My GPS was acting very confused, so I asked for directions.

Just seven miles west of town, on a paved road, was the dam and reservoir with a nice campground. My spot had a good view of the lake, some trees, a shelter with table and grill, and there were pit toilets. I was able to get level without blocks, and there was good internet.

At $2.50 per night with Sr Pass, it was nice enough to stay several days. I used the dump station on the way out. This camp turned out to be more expensive than it seemed. A short hail storm put numerous holes in my A/C cover and roof vents. I patched them with Eternabond tape. But, they will need to be replaced.

Your AC cover can probably stand the holes with eternabond on it. The roof vents .are a more rigid plastic that I would be afraid would crack even under the eternabond. Once more thank you for all the pictures and commentary.

It was bound to happen sooner or later. Oh well, that’s how it goes!
