More Carrizozo

(Carrizozo NM)
Stopped in this artsy place for another visit. There were galleries, coffee shops, antiques, and restaurants. Colorful buildings full of character and friendly folks that love their town.

More Carrizozo – Mule with Cart

The Tularosa Basin Gallery of Photography was quite large and had lots of really exceptional images. Gallery 408 had some nice paintings, sculptures, and pottery.

Burro Sculptures
Sculpture Garden

Of course, the little burro sculptures were all over town. Also found were a mule pulling cart sculpture, sculpture garden, metal sculptured cowboy, and a mural of horsemen.

Cowboy Sculpture
Horsemen Mural

It’s easy to miss the art as most of the interesting stuff is one block off the main highway on 12th Street. Well worth a visit if you’re passing through.

Thanks for the heads up on the location. I hope to pass through there this year.

You might like Carrizozo. And, Valley of Fires CG-BLM is just 4 miles west of town.

Really cool stuff! My neighbor (RIP Steve W) used to do “cowboy art” pounding out and cutting metal. I was given some of his pieces. As a fan of westerns, I’d love to explore that area! Take care Pleinguy!

Lots of interesting things to see in New Mexico and the southwest.
