(Creel MX)
The Tarahumara natives are cave dwellers that live in and around Copper Canyon. Some still prefer living in caves; but, most have simple homes on a reservation outside of Creel.
They call themselves Rarámuri, and are known for long distance running in the mountains, their crafts, colorful clothing, and ranching. They also have stores in town.
I saw cattle, goats, and horses in fields around their homes on the reservation. As we drove around, there were interesting rock formations, and a pleasant lake.
San Ignacio Mission was established in 1741 and is on the reservation. The humble chapel still serves the natives today.
These people seemed to be very humble, and unassuming.

Very nice. How are you doing with all this stuff going on?
Except for the state parks being closed, it’s not much different than my usual camping style. I normally avoid the cities and crowds anyway. When I do go to town, getting what I need at the store is somewhat harder because of all the hoarders. Still, I’m doing OK.
