First Road Trip

(Tucson AZ)
After leaving the consignment lot, I headed to the nearby Shell station to fuel up ($3.43/gal). Then I went up the road a piece to top up the propane ($2.79/gal), and for the free dump station. The TTT Stop just off of I-10 was recommended by Brad from the RV sales team.

I had to wait my turn behind a big diesel pusher. They must of been in the store, because the attendant seemed to be looking for them. He instructed me to pull to the other side, and he quickly had my small 10 gal tank filled.

From there it was just a swing around to the dump station. When I got there, a Roadtrek 190 with Ontario plates was ahead of me. There was a lady and a man; and I thought hmmmm, could that be Marianne of the Frugal Shunpiker’s Guides fame? And sure enough it was!

Marianne & Randy of Frugal Shunpikers Guide

When they finished Randy gave me thorough instructions on how to properly dump and clean-up afterward. I was thrilled to get this help from such experienced RVers. And they are boondockers, which I plan on doing a lot of that.

Me, Marianne and Tardis

We showed off our rigs to each other and then went our separate ways. What a neat thing that my first encounter on the road with other RVers would be Marianne and Randy. This was a great start to my long trip back to my Florida house.

Congratulations on the LD, I know you will enjoy it. Also congrats on selling the house so quickly. We just missed each other. I am currently sitting in a Tucson RV service area waiting for some repairs to my rig. I will be posting about this on my next blog.

Oh my. Sorry to have missed meeting up. And, double sorry to hear about your rig. Hope it all works out well for you. Perhaps I’ll see you at the Fall SELD Get-together?
