Tampa Time

(Thonotosassa FL)
I drove the blue highways all the way to my next camp at Hillsborough River State Park just north of Tampa. The site was small compared to the last camp, and there was nothing concealing the next site. So, it made the campsite seem even smaller. Electric and water for two nights was $26.88 with senior discount and taxes. 4G LTE internet service with 3 bars allowed me to get some things done on the internet.

It was hot and humid, but I did manage to go for a hike along the river in the morning. Most of the day was spent inside working on the computer, continuing to organize the cabinets, and cleaning. I did visit awhile with the camper across from me who offered to help when I was setting up.

Years ago, when I was attending the University of South Florida, I’d come out here to walk across the swinging bridge over the river. Then play in the rapids, and sit on the rocks in the middle of the river. That spot was too far from the RV campground, so I passed on hiking over there. They’ve added a lot of features like a super sized pool, store, grill bar, nature tours, a restored fort, etc.

On my way out, I checked the tire pressure, and dumped the holding tanks. Then went straight to the home of my artist friends for a visit. I always stop to see them whenever I pass this way. They took me to a couple of museums, and out to eat, and we had a good time together for a few days. Then, it was on to see my cousin on the other side of Tampa Bay.

Nice rate. We found most sites we stayed in we not on the wide size and most did not provide enough space between RV’s especially once the slide outs got opened.

Hey just want to mention I like how you always mention your location in your post. Sometimes I’m unable to check in on all my favorite bloggers regularly and the first thing I look for is location…

Dick: Small sites are typical of commercial parks, but state parks usually have generous room. This one was the closest I’ve seen so far.
Rivercat: Not all posts will be about a location, but when it is I mention where I’ve been. Glad you are following my travels.

Wow Dragonfly, you’re relatively close to where I am camped enroute to see an artist friend in north Florida. Don’t worry about how the painting looks just yet; it takes a good while to get comfortable painting on location. Plein air is very different than studio work, but you will improve if you continue doing it.
