Lower Gray Canyon

(nr Green River UT)
Spent a few days camped next to the Green River in Utah. I rarely stay at a pay campground; but, this one was special enough to spend a few days. It was about ten miles from town past ranches and farms.

Lower Gray Canyon-Swasey Beach CG, a small BLM campground, was at the end of a paved road, and right on the edge of the river, which was full from recent rains and was roaring past with lots of rapids. What a delightful sight to see!

Colorful Book Cliffs beyond Green River

Located next to the colorful Book Cliffs, and surrounded by mesas, buttes, and lots of green shrubbery and trees it was a visually exciting scene. There was also a small beach, and plenty of rocks along the riverbank.

It was a chance to work on the many photos recently taken, and to write-up some blog posts. I was also planning my route and what attractions to see along the way. A hike up the gravel road, beyond the campground, found a couple of free boondock camps next to the river. Without the recent rain, they would have been a good choice.

    You’re killing me, here! 🙂

Beautiful photos and awesome areas! I’ve got the itch and yes, it IS being scratched! We just arrived back in Ohio from Moriarty, NM where we purchased a 2004 Lazy Daze. Now getting ready to list this stick house come mid-July and then, hopefully, head back out to NM sometime in the month of May, next year as full-timers.

Thanks for keeping our vision alive!

Congratulations on getting your Lazy Daze; you’ll learn to love it. Hope your house sells quickly and you get on the road to enjoying this lifestyle.

This is a gorgeous place. “The Colorful Book Cliffs” are absolutely beautiful. I’ve Never seen anything like them. Can’t blame you for staying longer than usual, definitely a place to stay awhile.
