Farmers & Crafts Market

(Las Cruces NM)
The Farmers and Crafts Market on Wednesday was smaller than I expected. However, venders there said that the Saturday market was much larger. A nice variety of foods, crafts, art, and music was found anyway. It was a beautiful sunny day for a stroll.

The crafts and art were quite good with some really unique items. I spoke with a painter that said booths were only open to county residents. Farm items included chiles, grass fed beef, veggies, jellies, and home cooked items. There were dining options, too.

A couple of street musicians were performing; one English and the other Spanish. A parking spot was found a block away. But, with it being located downtown, I suspect that finding a place could be difficult on Saturday. It was a pleasant time checking out the wares.

I camped at Leasburg Dam State Park in the free primitive drycamping area. Unfortunately, it’s near to the railroad tracks. Still, the park is conveniently only about twelve miles from Las Cruces.

Those outdoor markets are cool. I love the regional food, particularly the dried peppers. I can only imagine how delicious they are. Looks like fun!

Yeah, outdoor markets can be pretty good. Everything is not always as it seems though. So, you need to know what you’re doing when buying at them.

That’s my kind of shopping; but usually we just admire the items and never seem to buy much.

Other than the food items, it’s pretty hard to justify buying more stuff when you live in an RV.
