Bryce Canyon Amphitheater

(Bryce Canyon City UT)
Bryce Canyon National Park with its huge Amphitheater and canyons, filled with fantastic rock formations and hoodoos, was something special to see. This was another park on my wish list; and, so glad I finally made it.

The Rim Trail went past the four main viewpoints of the amphitheater. No RV parking by there, so I took the shuttle and walked the rim, taking photos along the way.

The views were wide and expansive. But, you could also see deep into the canyon. Large fingers of cliffs jutted out into the immense space.

Hoodoos of every size and shape imaginable were everywhere. It was especially dramatic when one stood out by itself with a different color.

Ridges that appeared like giant sand dunes seemed to hold it all together. Amazingly, there were many trees growing amongst the rock formations, pillars, and hoodoos.

Besides the wonderful overlooks, there were trails down into the canyons, backpack camping in the canyon with a special permit, and even horseback riding amongst the hoodoos.
