Cottonwood Creek flowed right by my camp. One day I decided to follow it up the mountain. It turned out to have some impressive rapids, log jams, and big rocks. The roiling water was always exciting to me.
There was a small path that went along the creek for a ways. That allowed me to get real close to the edge for some nice shots. I came across another campsite, but it would only have been accessible by a tent camper with a jeep or ATV.
Along the way, I saw a multiple drop waterfall coming down the mountainside for a couple hundred feet at least. It was probably one of those seasonal flows from snow melt. It was surely a pretty sight though.
The surrounding mountain views were also a joy to behold. I really liked the camp by Cataract Gulch; it had so many wonderful features nearby.
Camp: Gunnison NF-Cataract Gulch boondock
Scene: Creek, mountains, rapids
That is some really neat creek flows that you found. Thanks for sharing.
Yeah; there were a lot of them in that area.
Are you doing any paint?
Not much. I’m moving around so often that it makes it difficult to get into a groove.
Beautiful, peaceful scenery. Thank you for sharing your pictures
Glad you enjoyed the post.
