Forest Walks

(Various Places)
Once settled into a camp, I like to take a walk around the area. It often means meandering through the forest and meadows to see what I can discover. Usually, not more than a mile from camp, I come across some interesting feature.

Forest Walks – Aspen Grove

Mostly, nature provides peaceful scenes of aspen groves, tall pines, a creek or lake, rock formations, and wildflowers. Sometimes deer or other wildlife is found. Once, I came upon some cowboys moving a herd of cattle to their mountain pastures.

These walks tend to be peaceful. There are exceptions; like the buck who bolted from a clump of trees just in front of me. Or, when a jet passed right over top of me at treetop height. Both times I was too amazed to think of taking a photo.

Being immersed in nature always lifts my spirit, and brings me a peaceful feeling. Nature never disappoints me on these forest walks.

I thought I was the only one to whom this sort of reconnoitering was important. ;->

I walk around everyday. But, on the day of arriving to camp, gives me a good feel for the area.
