(El Paso TX)
A friend took me to see the El Paso Museum of Art. Some interesting sculptures greeted us in the lobby, and others were displayed in the various galleries. Several large rooms held artwork from certain areas or periods.
As might be expected, there was an exhibit of a Mexican artist about his life living on the border. Also, some regionally known artists, and well known historic names like Remington and others.
The collections were quite varied with artwork from specific centuries, art movements, and styles. Unlike some museums, there wasn’t a focus on any period or type of art. But instead, they had a well rounded selection of creative pieces.
Construction barriers were all around the building; so, we had to park a few blocks away. It seemed that the area would be quite nice and walkable when they finished. Afterward, we went to lunch at a local Mexican restaurant.
