Ravines Rim Trail

(Divisadero MX)
On our last day at Copper Canyon, we took a hike along the Rim Trail. It was a cool morning with a bright sun. Tall cliffs on one side, and straight down into the ravines on the other, the trail provided expansive views of the canyons.

Ravines Rim Trail – Looking Out

Originally built by the natives, the trail has been improved by the park service. In some places, the path got pretty close to the edge. While a bit scary, it made for great views of the cliffs and crevices.

Along the way, we saw a Tarahumara stone home tucked into a cliff. Two kids that lived there met us on the path to hawk their crafts. We saw a cistern that the natives had built to store water from a spring.

When the path reached a large, flat ledge we stopped. However, the trail continued on along the rim. From that spot, we could see across to the other side, farther down the canyon, and deep into the ravines. Spectacular!

Then, it was time to turn around and head back. It took about an hour and a half round trip; but, was a pretty easy hike.
