(nr Magdalena NM)
The trail was in a drainage area below Water Canyon Mesa, and meandered up the wash. The path was not always obvious, but with little chance of getting lost. Elevation gain was gradual, so it was an easy stroll.
Trees, shrubbery, and rocks were abundant. There were lots of downed trees, presumably due to flash flooding. Some large older trees had impressive trunk girth and deep bark texture.
Although it was not particularly interesting, the trail was an easy walk under the shade of many trees.
