(nr Elephant Butte NM)
About this time of year, rain begins to fall more frequently. Out here they call it the monsoon season. However, it is often little more than a few hours of drizzle. Regardless, any moisture is very welcome in the desert.
Recently, it rained off and on for five days straight. And along with it, mostly cloudy and much cooler temperatures. It went from hovering around 100, down into the mid-70s; with one day having a high of 65.
We could use much more of that, as it’s been a pretty dry year. It was a pleasant respite from the heat. I prefer cool breezes over blazing sun anytime.
