Moon Shots

(Various Places)
Thought I’d share a few shots of the moon taken at different locations during my travels. Like photographing sunsets, they are difficult to get right because of the lighting conditions.

Moon Shots – Moon Over the Fra Cristóbal Range

The first one was taken from a BLM boondocking camp near Elephant Butte Lake in New Mexico; a full moon rising over the Fra Cristóbal Range. While traveling across US-90, the moon loomed large from an overnight stop at a rest area near Marfa TX.

Moon Above the Doña Ana Mountains

An almost full moon was perched over the Doña Ana Mountains east of my campsite at Leasburg Dam State Park in New Mexico. The moon peaking through some clouds as it rose over a lake at Land Between the Lakes NRA in Kentucky.

Moon at Quemado Lake NM

And finally, a quarter moon was framed by trees in the Gila National Forest by Quemado Lake NM. I like the somber and tranquil qualities of the moon shots. Hope you enjoy them, too.
