Evening Light

(Arizona)
Here are some photos of evening light taken while roaming around the southwest. The hours before sunset often provide nice color contrasts. I chose a few to share that vary with the light and weather conditions.

Evening Light – Sonoran Desert Saguaros

The subtle tones of the cacti and landscape were charming in the evening light next to my campsite outside Ajo. It was quite a different mood than the colorful clouds over the mountains from my spot in Buenos Aires NWR.

Pajarito Peak

Not that far away, I boondocked in Calabasas Canyon, near Nogales. The low evening sun lit up the side of Pajarito Peak as seen from my rig. Much further north, overlapping mountains receded from view on the Mogollón Rim.

The evening sun turned these rugged rocks into a deep copper color; found at the Painted Rock Petroglyph Site close to Gila Bend. Evening light can produce some surprisingly beautiful photos. I should take more.

Pajarito Peak calls to my paint box. Are you painting much?

I’m currently learning to do digital painting. Hope to have something to show soon.
