Prep for Road Trip

(Elephant Butte NM)
It’s the last days before I head on down the road for my spring-summer trip. Of course, I could leave on any day. But, I’m hoping to time departure when all prep items are completed, I’ve used up all my free days at the state parks, arrival at my first camp in Arizona is mid-week, and the weather is Springtime pleasant. Excitement builds as my departure approaches.

Prep for Road Trip – Tardis

Final checks on my rig Tardis includes oil, filters, tranny, tires, clean rig inside and outside. Also empty waste tanks, fill water and propane, defrost freezer, stock food pantry, plus last day laundry of clothes and linens. I’m planning to roll out of here the first part of next week.

WOW I like that using up all the free days on a NM pass. Be careful in the warmer weather. Sometimes I forget and get a bit to hot in early spring.

Good point about the warmer temperatures. Most of my early on planned camps will be above 5,000ft, so I’m hoping it will be OK. Though a few of the lower ones could get hot. Crossing my fingers. Later in the trip they will be over 7,000ft.

By using up your all of your free days in NM, are you referring to the fact that your annual pass is about to expire? Or is there some other NM State Park program I am unaware of?

    Thanks and travel safe!

My annual camping pass has expired. I will renew when I return in the Fall.
