Roadrunner

(Columbus NM)
I had a feathered friend drop by to say hello. A roadrunner, which usually stays on the ground, flew up to the roof ladder and to my eBike to perch. It seemed very interested in peeking inside.

Three different times it came to check things out. I’m not sure if it could see me inside or not. Maybe it was just seeing a reflection of itself in the dark tinted window.

Roadrunners are the state bird in New Mexico, and I had been thinking recently that I had seen very few this year. Perhaps it read my mind and wanted me to know they were still around.

Taking Another Look

Anyway, the roadrunner was a welcome visitor. And, it came around enough for me to get some good photos.

Roadrunners are definitely in short supply compared to previous years here at Falcon Lake State Park in Texas.
