Badger Springs Trail

(nr Bumble Bee AZ)
The Badger Springs Trail in the Agua Fría National Monument is an easy hike into a small canyon. It more or less follows a wash for about one mile and ends at the Agua Fría River. The wash is created by the spring, but I didn’t see it.

Badger Spring Trail

Plenty of vegetation and rocks were seen; but no critters. Large boulders were everywhere; and, especially along the river. Lots of greenery by the river, but not much water. The scenery was not as grand as other places. But, it was still a pleasant hike.

Pueblo la Plata ruins and native rock art are also in the monument. They are located in the Bloody Basin area about 10 miles down gravel and dirt roads; so, I didn’t visit them.

I boondock camped along the road for a few days to take advantage of the moderate temperatures.

Looks like a wonderful place to me. I bet there are lots of art scenes in there waiting to be visualized. Thanks for the great report again. A pic of your campsite in the area would also be good for folks like me.

The area was not all that scenic. Camp was a spot just off the gravel road; didn’t take a photo of it here. Thanks for commenting.
