Yellow Pine Creek

(nr Kamas UT)
I drove up the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway and camped next to Yellow Pine Creek. The highway reaches 10,725ft going over the high Uinta Mountains in north central Utah.

Yellow Pine Creek

My boondock campsite backed up to the creek and under tall pine trees at 7,189ft. I arrived four days before the Memorial Day holiday weekend. And none too soon, as the next day all spots seemed to be taken.

Cascade Over Rocks
Cascades Babbling Away

It was not a terribly scenic stream; but, good enough for a few photos. I liked the water cascading around the fallen tree and over the rocks. The babbling sound of the water made for a restful evening.

Creek Through the Pines
Cascades with Stump

After a couple of nights, I drove up the byway to get photos while hoping to beat the weekend crowds. That plan seemed to work well.

Looked very nice. A good spot for a bit of kicking back it seemed. Thank you for the nice report.

Stream looks pretty scenic to me! A clear running stream is pretty rare around here. Actually, usually non-existent. So, I enjoyed it!

Glad you liked it. Cropping out the overgrowth around it made it look nicer.
