(Gallup NM)
There was a walking trail in downtown for several murals depicting the history and culture of the area. Unfortunately, the shop with maps was closed when I was there. So, I had to search around to find some.
The town is on the edge of the Navajo Nation and near to the Zuni Pueblo. It’s well known for its native trading posts, crafts, and art galleries. Mining and the railroad played major roles in its development.
I found a dozen murals; but, later learned there were even more in the surrounding area. It was pretty hilly and I tired quickly from the effort. So, I stopped for lunch in a café, then headed out to find my next camp.
Many streets in the downtown were being worked on, and fenced off, so access was limited. Hence, I couldn’t get good angles for photos, and missed many. These are a small sample.

That is a great find. Thank you for showing it to us. I had not heard of the murals before so it was a wonderful find.
Glad you liked them Barney.
