(Temple Terrace FL)
I spent a couple of days visiting a long time friend from my college days. While there, he took me to see a place we frequented not far from the campus. At the time, it was just a spot in the woods. Today, Lettuce Lake is a fully developed wetlands park.
A long boardwalk extended out into the wetlands that boarders the lake. It had a couple of side forks that went to different areas. On the way, were viewing platforms, benches for resting, and a tower overlooking the lake.
In addition, the park had bike trails, picnic areas, a nature center, canoeing or kayaking, restrooms, and ample parking. There was an entry fee to help support the improvements.
It was a pleasant afternoon enjoying the scenery in the park; and, I finally got to see a baby gator, as well as a variety of plants and birds.
