In the evening, we attended a special Celtic Concert with three really good bands performing. How often do you get to hear bagpipes, multiple drums, and a digereedoo in a band? Not your typical music or presentation which turned out to be superb.
Syr from South Carolina played celtic and folk rock using guitars, bass, fiddle, drums and conga, with female vocals. Their style was closest to what one would expect, but with a twist. They were very good with a unique rockin’ sound.
Albannach from Scotland played primitive percussion with over the top rhythms that shook the bones. They featured mostly drumming and bagpipes, with a digereedoo adding an interesting sound. A female singer rounded out their set.
Red Hot Chilli Pipers from Scotland did pop songs interpreted with bagpipes, drums and conga, guitars, bass, keyboards, and male vocals. A really exciting performance by a group that has been around for a long time.
All three groups got the crowd excited and involved. Very loud and in your face! So, I was not sure I would like it. Surprisingly, I adjusted and really enjoyed the exciting performances.
Camp: Wayside Inn
Scene: Concert, music

I’m glad you were able to adjust! 😆
Happy I got to go and enjoy the unique sounds.
That sounds like such a fun time, Pleinguy! I’d love to hear the sounds. I’m a big fan of bagpipes. The Red Hot Chili Peppers are definitely a classic! 🙂
It’s Chilli Pipers (not peppers, a different group). Yeah, the sounds were amazing. Search youtube for the bands, and you’ll get some good clips.
