(Indian Lake NY)
Continuing the New York portion of my travels, I spent a day visiting a friend east of the Hudson River near Albany. He is also full-timing in a Lazy Daze motorhome, so we shared lots of ideas about the adventure. Then I went to spend a day with a cousin about two hours north. They have a country home on 32 acres in the hills near Glens Falls. They fed me well, and I went away with a basket of home grown veggies. Yummy!
My next camp was up in the Adirondack Mountains. I had heard about a free camping area 12 miles off the main highway; half paved and half well maintained hardpack. So of course, I had to check it out. It turned out to be a beautiful location.
I found a spot right next to the lake and got enough level without blocks. Apparently this used to be a state run area, but they are letting it go back wild. People are still using it like dispersed camping; and there were a few others camped, but well spaced.
Too bad one night was all I could stay, as another cousin expected me the next day. I’ve found that even though I am very flexible, others still have a schedule. Adjusting to this lifestyle takes a little time.

Adjusting to this lifestyle does take a little time… you will find your friends jealous of your freedom tho. Love the pictures…
