(Mountain West)
During my northwest trek, one thing I found everywhere I went was wildflowers. These pretty little things brightened up my hikes and boondocking camps. Thought I would share some of those lovely weeds with you.
I had always associated wildflower blooms with the springtime. But, they have blessed me with their beauty all summer long too.
I don’t know their names, but perhaps you do. It doesn’t really matter to me, as I just appreciate the variety of colors and textures.
It’s the little things that often make the journey most enjoyable. Don’t forget that you can click a picture to see a slideshow of larger images.
Camps: Multiple locations
Scene: Wildflowers galore
Like you, I always associate wildflowers with spring and early summer, and am often surprised in my travels to see so many blooms everywhere.
A very pleasant surprise too. Just another perk of this camping in the forest.
I love wild flowers – great photos!! When we lived in AZ if the monsoon was a success in the amount of rain it brought, the wildflower crop was stupendous!!!!
Seems to me that it has been wetter this summer. Made for lots of pretty flowers.
