(New Mexico)
From time to time, I’ve tried to photograph sunsets. It’s difficult to do and avoid glare or gaudy colors. Getting the timing just right, in order to show the light and the landscape features to their best, is tricky.
Color is not the only attraction for me. Trying to get interesting shapes and color variations, at the same time, makes for a better composition. But, that too is hard to arrange since the light changes so quickly.
Sunsets are only an occasional subject for me. Perhaps, with more attempts, I will get better at capturing the right combination of elements.
These few photos were taken in New Mexico at different times and places. I enjoy having these views out my window. Hope you like them.

I really liked them all, but I think mountain and red sky is my favorite. You are so right about how fast the sun goes down – barely time to get a good shot! You got some good ones.
Thank you Martha. Not sure I can pick a favorite myself. I believe the secret is to take a shot every few seconds; and then, choose the best of the bunch.
I’d say you have a good handle on taking pictures of the sunsets. I like them all, but then I love sunsets in any which way one can see them. Each is unique and to capture a small sentiment of any given sunset – is special. Merry Christmas!
Thanks for the affirmation Melinda. Glad you enjoyed the sunsets. Hope you too have a wonderful holiday.
Nice sunsets, when your photography makes one want to be ‘there’ you have success. I can feel myself there.
Wonderful that the pix transport you to the scene. Makes me happy to know that. Thanks for sharing.
