I don’t remember when I first heard about the Mineral Creek trail. But, a description of slot canyon, rock formations, creek with cascades were enough for me to seek it out. It meant driving several miles up a gravel road to find the trailhead.
The hike in, getting to some nice views, was rather short. A narrow trail led to the small creek and into the canyon. Right away, I could see it was going to be special. There was plenty of shade to shelter from the hot sun.
It was necessary to cross the creek several times, carefully choosing stepping rocks, or logs. I was warned that getting wet was likely. I crossed over five times going up. However, I was able to get in and out without soggy boots.
Not sure I would describe it as a slot; but, it was pretty narrow. Tall cliffs, on both sides, towered up to wonderfully varied rock formations. Boulders and rocks in the creek produced cascades of different sizes.
Pillars, small pinnacles, and even a window rock made for fantastic views. When I reached a large, slopping, cascade over slickrock I decided not to test it. This was one of the better hikes I’ve done.

Nice shots!
Thank you John; it was a great spot. Hope all is well with you.
Nice place. It is low enough for me to visit it seems. Thank you.
I think you would enjoy this trail.
Great rock formations and stream. Are you painting any?
Beautiful scenes; but alas, no painting there.
