One of the neatest little places in downtown is Ingo’s Art Café. It opened just last fall by a guy from Germany who was stationed in New Mexico while in the Air Force; and decided to stay when he got out.
Each weekend they have a different event like movie night, open mike, jam session, poetry readings, or invited performers; all free. This night featured a duo called Doc and Donna from Michigan. They played a wide variety of tunes and were very good.
Ingo serves custom coffee, tea, and sparkling drinks as well as a few snacks. He had a nice collection of Audrey Hepburn memorabilia, and some original art. It’s a relaxing and cozy spot with unique decorations.
I’ve enjoyed my few visits to the Art Café, and will surely go again. If you’re ever in town, check it out at 422 N Broadway St, just a few doors from the T-or-C Brewing Co (micro brewery).
Camp: Elephant Butte Lake SP-Beach primitive
