After leaving the Gila Mountains, and descending from Emory Pass, I drove through Percha Creek Canyon. Some impressive rock formations required several stops to take photos.
Some say a rock is a rock; after a while they all look the same. But to me, the shapes, textures, colors, patterns, size and surrounding elements make them unique. Thus, I always find them interesting.
During the springtime or in the summer rainy season, there would be lots of water flowing in the creek. However, much of the year, it’s mostly dry like in these pictures.
I had spent a couple of nights camped high in the mountains at about 7,225ft to escape the heat. But, as usual, I couldn’t stay put for long.
