(Gateway to Uravan CO)
After camping for a few days, I continued driving the Unaweep Scenic Byway along the western edge of Colorado. The ride further south provided more photos of the rugged landscape.
In this area, the road followed the Dolores River gorge cut deep into the earth. There were more cliffs and massive rock formations to dazzle the eyes.
Of course, the river gorge provided the most photo opportunities. Standing on the edge, looking down to the river, at the surrounding cliffs, or the many rocks all provided great views.
Many of the designated points of interest were missed, either because they were not marked well, or no suitable pull off was available. Still, there was plenty to capture my attention.
