Located in the Aguirre Springs NRA the Pine Tree Trail goes up to the pinnacles and loops back to the beginning. I hiked it all the way a few years ago; but, only did a short portion this time with my friend.
Not sure how it got the name, as I don’t recall seeing pines along the way; maybe at the top. A few bigger trees provided shade for a rest. Plenty of scraggly trees, massive rocks, shrubs, and some spring runoff.
The water was likely coming from the springs of the area name. It was a refreshing sight as it tumbled over the rocks and wended its way done the mountain.
Some spring growth provided a nice contrast in colors. Great views of the mountains, and of the valley below. And, the weather was perfect for a morning outing.
