Well any quest for one’s dreams involves challenges, and I’ve seen mine in the past couple of weeks. From dental pain, to delays in preparing the house to sell, to a major computer crash, I’ve seen my share.
On a recent Friday evening my face began to swell and produce considerable pain. These things always happen on a weekend, don’t they?! I was popping ibuprofen until Monday morning when I could get to the dentist. The exam revealed the need for a root canal plus two extractions. After the antibiotics ran their course those procedures were done. The last visit was to get the mold for a crown. Pain meds have been my friend the past couple of weeks. This is the result of an aversion to going to the dentist.
Then, in my continuing efforts to prepare for the RVing life, I was attempting to fix my aging desktop computer so as to transfer files to my new laptop. In the process, I managed to crash it to the point where I could only access my files by returning it to the state when I bought it seven years ago. That meant no programs or updates to see what was on it. After a week of effort I’ve finally had some success in migrating the files I need to my new laptop. And this time I created a bootable backup on an external harddrive.
These trials, the hot weather, and the beat of daily living by a solo senior guy have conspired to delay some chores needed to get this house ready to sell. Or perhaps it’s just dragging my feet, and dreading the work involved. There are so many things to do!
I was reluctant to share these personal issues, but my purpose for the blog is to chronicle my journey, and to keep me on track toward that goal. So here it is. A few bumps in the road are to be expected I suppose.
