The house has been on the market for a little over two weeks. It has been shown nine times, and I’ve received two offers. The first was a low ball one that I refused, but the second was accepted. Of course it is below the asking price, but within the range I expected in this economy. If I held out for more, I could have easily spent the difference in additional mortgage payments. Now it is a matter of making it through closing without a hitch; which should take about 30 days.
I’ve done a pretty good job getting rid of things over the past year. However, clearing the house of my remaining furniture and stuff is now imperative. An artist friend bought some frames and art supplies, my cousin will be coming to pick up a few things, my neighbor, who has been really great to me, will get my woodworking tools. Anything not sold or gone by the deadline will be donated.
I was wishing for a quick sale, and now I’m hoping to soon be homeless.
