Within Glen Canyon NRA was Lone Rock on Wahweap Bay of Lake Powell. I camped there for one night to see the rock. But, not on the beach as it was too crowded there. It’s a very popular stop for RVers.
Instead, I stayed up on the hill overlooking the scene. It was a better view anyway, and fairly easy leveling. Fewer people up there until the three RV rentals arrived late; apparently traveling together. They were not as much of a bother as expected.
On the hill was also an older Lazy Daze rig towing an old VW Bug. We waved to each other; but, no visit. He seemed to appreciate his privacy. The next day I moved farther west in southern Utah.
Camp: Glen Canyon NRA-Lone Rock drycamp
Scene: Canyon, lake, rock formation
All the time I’ve traveled around that part of the country I wished I could spend more time, but it seemed there were rv’s everywhere and no tents. Your photos show a beautiful place with great scenery!
There was an area with mostly tent campers between the beach and the hill. Yes, it was pretty; but, I don’t like paying those prices for a spot to park.
