My friend sang in the Mesilla Valley Chorale during their concert “Celebrate Music” at the Río Grande Theater downtown. A collection of pieces that represented uplifting themes were performed.

Included were a couple of numbers that featured solo vocalists, and accompaniments on piano, oboe, and drums. All were very pleasing and well rendered.

The theater itself had decorative murals and comfortable seating making the setting enjoyable. A pretty decent attendance rewarded the singers with much applause.

Afterward, a few of us went out to eat at a café with middle eastern cuisine. It was a fun evening.
Camp: Friend’s place
Scene: Music, theater
Sounds like a great day to me. It seems you are really enjoying that area and that is wonderful.
I am finding many fun things to do, and enjoying it.
That sounds like fun! I love the decorative inside of the venue. Just out of curiosity, what type of middle eastern food did you enjoy? We have some in Iowa but it is limited.
I played it safe, and ordered a gyro. The others chose more exotic dishes; but, I don’t recall what they had.
