(Creel MX)
The last stop on our Copper Canyon Tour was in this mountain village with colorful buildings. Walked around, stopped in a few stores and galleries, and got a Tarahumara carving to bring home.
There was more to do there than time allowed like the Visitor Center, Railroad Depot, Artisans Museum, the Christo Rey statue, Valley of the Monks, etc. Would like to have stayed longer.
The lodge we stayed at had the usual log construction and stone fireplaces. They had a band playing during dinner. Our cabin was cute and cozy.
The following morning we loaded the van and headed out for the long ride back to Puerto Palomas.
Camp: The Lodge at Creel
Scene: Shops, lodge, rocks
Seems like a lifetime ago with all that’s happening now
Really? I don’t feel that way; I’m still relishing the memories.
