(nr Sedona AZ)
These red rock cliffs and formations were seen while driving north of Sedona along AZ-89A. They were on both sides of the road as it wound up Oak Creek Canyon.
It was difficult guiding my rig into small pullouts along the winding road. However, it was the only way to photograph the rocks. Then, hoping a car wasn’t coming around the curve when getting back on the pavement.
I really liked the looks of the cliffs and formations. Soaring into the sky, the rugged rocks looked majestic. Their interesting shapes, with varied textures and colors, contrasted against the sky and trees for an exciting view.
After running out of overlooks, I went in search of a forest camp at a higher and cooler elevation. Eventually, a spot was found in an area with many other campers.
