Had to park on the side of the road, and trudge through deep sand for aways to reach the Sand Dune Arch. It was smaller and less impressive than I had imaged. Although, the craggy texture and color was nice.
However, Party Rock was the key to finding the arch. The big rock rose above the trees and pointed the way. It’s striped texture, multi-colored, and hoodoo like shape were striking.
These were unexpected finds in the tree covered hills. Glad I stopped to find them.

Nice report. Thank you. I sure missed a lot of nice things in my travels in that area but I still had very full days of great sights. Too much to visit and so little time.
Yes; there’s much more to do in the area than one might suspect. I had a good time for what I did.
I am stunned by the different angles in the sedimentary rocks….pushed one way, then another, especially in the second to last photo. And of course, worn down and down since that. Wow. Thanks.
