I took a short 1 1/2 mile round trip hike to get a closer look at Diana’s Throne; a well known landmark in the area. The trail began close to the highway. Luckily, someone told me where to pull off because it wasn’t signed.

Most of the way was in deep loose sand, with some brush to get through. I strayed off the path somewhat to make walking easier. Markers showed where to turn on the way to getting better views.

When I got near enough for photos, I wandered around getting shots from different angles. The “throne” part seemed pretty obvious. But, I also liked the rock textures and colors.

Eventually, I felt I had gotten enough pictures. And, my legs were getting weary from the trudging along. So, I decided the venture was a success, and returned to my rig.
